Our team at North Carolina Esports Academy understands the growing concern for parents today about the amount of time their kids are in front of a screen. That is why we work to help families utilize video games to promote healthy screen time.
CONCERNS OF SCREEN TIME
To avoid screens in our current society is almost impossible. During COVID we adopted a screen life. We use screens for work, education, entertainment, and more. Most people spend over 7 hours a day looking at screens.
Here is how you can keep your young gamer healthy:
List of How to Limit Screen Time
- Limit video game time ie. Only let them play at North Carolina Esports Academy. Avoid the argument at home and Learn more about our specific workshops or camps that they come to which then eliminates the arguments at home.
- Encourage reading paper books over watching TV and kindle books.
- Invest in blue light glasses as they can assist with limiting eye-strain and other complications.
- And this is a must: get outside more! Natural sunlight is the best for our health and well-being.
Esports and Screen Time
During STEM camps, our goal is to promote a balance between screen time and physical activity. To accomplish this we take them outside in the Waverly Courtyard for physical activity as long as the weather permits.
In addition, Triangle Esports also aims to teach students how to work together as a team by giving them time to talk about their ideas and projects with each other.
